Amelia Deer Heart

Amelia flew in a helicopter when she was just a few days old. She broke her leg as a fawn, but recovered into a chubby, calm, and friendly doe. Amelia enjoys ruminating in the sunshine and is happiest when she has to move as little as possible.

Annabell

Annabell was our first female fawn captured by hand in the Snake River Canyon by volunteers including two kids Landree and Whitney who named her. Friendly Annabell is the pet of all, and is always front and center to see if she can help. Her healed lip injury gives her a perpetual smile.

Beatrice

Bea was acquired as a yearling from a family in Northeastern Washington that hand-raised her. Our "funny girl", she is large, sweet, with a long, thin face. She likes to put her head on your shoulder for lots of kisses.

Britta

Britta likes to give kisses and is always looking for a treat. She is big, calm, and steady, with beautiful “doe eyes”.

Buddy

Buddy was rejected by his mother shortly after he was born but was nursed back to health by staff. He is a friendly and majestic buck.

Cherry

Small but mighty like her mother, Emma, Cherry is spunky, playful and a loyal friend.

Clarice

Named for Rudolph's girlfriend, Clarice is large and more “wild” and “deer-like” than many of the others. She has unique white eye-rings.

Diego

Son of Scout and Buddy, Diego was an unexpected arrival one cold, fall day. A very curious and calm buck, Diego is always in the middle of all the action, looking for affection.

Emma

Emma is a small, fluffy deer named for a technician's niece who suffers from cancer. Emma has a beautiful, dainty face. But like the niece Emma, this doe also has a lot of spunk and is a fighter.

Freyja

Short and shy, Freyja takes a while to warm up to new people. Once she becomes accustomed to you, she's loyal and affectionate. Whenever Freyja gets scared, she immediately lies down.

Helen

Helen is small, with a dainty and pretty face and very shy. She's named in memoriam for the mother of volunteers Ella Gaye and Dale.

Indy

Not always sure of new people, Indy comes up for introductions anyway. Half-sister to Phoebe, she is spunky and likes to play.

Juniper

One of our larger deer, Juniper, also known as Junebug or Ju-Ju-Be, loves to stand beside you to receive lots of pets. She is twin sister to May.

Kiwi

Britta's daughter, Kiwi is very shy and "quiet" but very loyal to her human friends.

Lily

Twin sister of Rogue, Lily is our spokes-deer; she is always the first one to greet new visitors, is very affectionate, and likes to know what's going on at all times.

May

Large like her twin sister, Juniper, May is outgoing and headstrong. She is one of the first to greet you, demanding pets.

Natalie

Natalie came to us as a 6-mon old fawn from Salmon, ID. She used to follow us around like a puppy dog but now leaves those antics to daughter, Scout and grandson, Diego. Natalie has grown into a calm and gentle deer.

Nettles

Nettles is named for the bunch of stinging nettles she was sitting in when captured, leaving researches with stinging arms. Generally reserved, Nettles can sometimes surprise you with affection.

Nixie

The youngest of the herd, Nixie was one of our first ever set of triplets born at the facility. The runt of the litter, Nixie has grown into hearty independent deer. She loves to run and play, but also cuddle up for some attention. You can visit her sisters at the Cougar Mountain Zoo in Issaquah, WA.

Half-sister to Indy, Phoebe is independent and stubborn.

Twin sister to Lily, Rogue enjoys her days out in the field, foraging, doing her part for research.

Scout is affectionate and full of personality. Like her mother Natalie when she was young, Scout loves to follow you around like a puppy dog.

Sydney

A trained professional, Sydney likes to go for rides in the horse trailer. She's a calm, cool and collected doe.

Tina

Tina was a big, sturdy fawn who served as “mom” for smaller fawns. Today she is a strong and beautiful doe.

Violet

Petite and friendly, Violet is named after Bambi's rabbit friend. Violet is our little cuddle buddy.
