David M. Baumgartner, Ph.D., CF (Certified Forester), and Fellow, Society of American Foresters, is Professor and State Extension Forester, Department of Natural Resource Sciences at Washington State University (WSU), Pullman. With a Ph.D. in Forest Management, Policy, and Administration from Michigan State University, he is recognized as a world-wide authority on extension, technology transfer, and continuing education. He has conducted more than 200 symposia and workshops for over 15,000 natural resource management professionals. He has authored or co-authored more than 120 publications and has generated more than $3 million in extramural funding. He has a great deal of experience working internationally, especially in the Russian Federation.
